(PEPIWM)

An Institutional Partnership for International Development between:
Tashkent Institute of Irrigation & Agricultural Mechanization Engineers (TIIAME)
&
Washington State University (WSU)

with Advisory Support from:
Resource Exchange International, Inc. (REI)

University Cooperation in Development (ALO)

United States Agency for International Development (USAID)

    • ALO Grant: $100,000+-
    • WSU Contribution: $142,000+-
    • TIIAME Contribution: $13,000

  4. Principal Goal of Project:
    Strengthen TIIAME Teaching & Applied Research Capacity in
    Environmental Protection & Integrated Water Management

  5. Principal Means of Meeting Goal:
    1. Through weeklong workshops, train trainers in the following topics:
      • Environmental Policy & Resource Economics
      • Water & Soil Interactions
      • Integrated Water Management & the Environment

      And Pending additional funding:
      • Proposal Writing & International Project Management
      • Computer Modeling (natural resource systems, hydrology, crop growth, water-use
        efficiencies, economic development)

    2. 1 Month Study tours at WSU for 5; 2 week Research Collaboration visits to WSU for 2
    3. Extending the training through short courses & incorporation into TIIAME courses, applied
      research projects, and literature dissemination through hardcopy reports & Internet webpages
